Ubisoft Sing The PS Vita’s Praises

“We need to put our best stuff on that system,” said Ubisoft’s senior vice president of sales and marketing about the PS Vita. In an interview with IGN, the publisher’s Tony Key said that Vita is “a really good platform” and that as a company they’ve “always liked it.”

[videoyoutube]”The way it’s designed, it’s a beautiful piece of hardware. It’s got cool features that you can’t get anywhere else. And Assassin’s Creed, we believe, is the right type of game for that system. It’s definitely too early to say that Vita’s not going to be a success,” he said.

“Assassin’s Creed III is not the only big Vita game coming this holiday, and I think that’s a good thing,” he added, referring to the still unknown factor of Call of Duty, which is little more than a logo just now.

“We’re actually very happy that there’s another big Vita game coming for Christmas from a competitor because we think that will raise all boats. It’s going to generate a lot of interest in the Vita this holiday season.”

Sony’s going to be spending a lot of money and resources to make sure that the Vita is there and it’s relevant and it’s doing well,” he concluded.

  1. Hope to see more Rayman on the PS Vita~~

    • Is there a “Like infinite times” button?
I just bought Rayman Origins for my Vita the other day even though I platinumed the PS3 version. It’s one of my all time favourite games. I’l end up buying a Wii U for Rayman Legends.

  2. They’re right. It is, isn’t it? Such a brilliant piece of technology.

  3. That a boy!

  4. looking forward to AC3L as well.

  5. Give us a Ghost Recon but not the new crappy one and a Rainbow Six and we’ll be good to go!!!

    • Did you mean ‘not one of the old horribly paced games’?
The new Ghost recon really refreshed the serise.

Would also love to see a counter part to rainbow six patriots come out too.

    • Ubi Quebec made the PSP port for R6 Vegas, but I think they’re dev’ing the Avengers game right now…

  6. It seems to have slipped under alot of peoples’ radar, but Vita NEEDS Might & Magic Clash of Heroes – perfect for touch screen, on and offline multiplayer and great to pick up for a couple of quick games. Could also be cross-compatible with PS3.

    • +1 That game was brilliant – add it for Vita (due to length and time commitments possibly add a plat trophy list :D).

      • Yeah, gutted I spent 30 odd hours and no Platinum. Luckily I don’t mind as the game really is that good!

  7. I hope a new Uncharted is in development (perhaps now with some nice big set pieces?). The vita is a great console needs some more support, get some ratchet, jax etc on there from first party and more large established franchises ( like with Ac/Cod). Really wouldn’t mind a batman on there (not lego).

Metal gear Hd looks a good step forward too, hopefully another peace walker/ portable ops will get on there. Monster hunter will obvs help the japanese market kick off.

  8. Good to see such support from Ubisoft. Hopefully Rayman Legends will make it’s way onto the Vita. Origins was one of the prettiest handheld games I have ever played. Can’t wait for AC later this year as well

    • I thought they’d announced that Legends was coming to Vita?

      • Nah they only showed off Wii-U version but hinted that it won;t be Wii-U exclusive.

Meaning it’s multi-format – don;t think Nintendo do the whole pay 3rd party publishers for exclusives thing?

      • They did an interview where they said it was WiiU exclusive I’m afraid.

Would love a Vita version though.

  9. I think I’ll never put the thing down if they knock out a decent Assassins Creed spin-off, hopefully AC3 Liberation lives up to the tag, rather than being a sad bastard child like the PSP one.
