Final Fantasy VII is Making a Comeback… On PC

It seems like something every Final Fantasy fan wants. It’s barely possible to read through forums posts or comment threads about Final Fantasy without encountering someone asking for a Final Fantasy VII HD remake. Well, it seems we’re closer than ever before.

A PC version of the game – although not listed as “HD” – was briefly listed on site hosted on a Square Enix-registered domain. The website, finalfantasyviipc.com, listed a feature set for the game and said that it was available to download now. The page has since been taken down but Google cache will still allow you to see it for yourself.

Among features listed are achievements and cloud saves.

So, is this just a Square Enix killer app to support their new digital download service or is it a taste of things to come for all Final Fantasy fans?

  1. FF7’s PC port is a bit of a shoddy port, i’ve seen some videos of it and man, the music is butchered. >:( That and i think it’s full of bugs. I rather play FF7 on my PS3 then PC as it feels natural. :O

However, if you’ve not got FF7 yet and only own a PC, i will suggest that you get this as it’s an excellent game. That and Roy has been known to kidnap TSAers and give them a FF lecture. ;)

    • There’s been patches and mods and fixes, it’s a PC

      • You can even replace the oh-so-blocky character models with the slightly less blocky ones that they use in battle mode

  2. Cloud saves is more of a story element than a new feature :p

    • To quote an excellent comment I spotted earlier: “Clous Saves but no Aerith Saves :(“

      • By which I of course mean Cloud, lol

  3. FF7, now with added price!
