Sales of the PlayStation Vita have doubled week on week in Japan, rising from approximately 12,000 to around 24,000 in the last seven day period.
But whilst hardware figures are somewhat healthier, software continues to be an issue for the portable in desperate need of some Japan-centric gaming.
Persona 4: The Golden sold around 13,000 copies, and Metal Gear Solid HD Edition managed just 20,000 sales, putting it in eighth place in the chart in terms of units shifted.
The 3DS sold 65,000 consoles in the same period.

Vita need’s a constant stream of games – but it just isn’t happening.
Hell there’s not games out in the west until september. I love it but lack of games is not doing it any favours.

As an owner of a Vita, I too am frustrated by the lack of games post launch.
However, the launch line-up was strong, and I doubt someone looking to buy a Vita would consider the lack of games appearing post launch, but would rather be looking at what is available, which is quite a decent selection.

There were some great games at launch but if I was thinking of buying a Vita I would put it off until there were some big games announced.

yes, while we got a white psp in europe, gotta love scee.
i mean they’ve always been lagging behind, but now a whole generation? O_O
anyway, i will get a vita one day, games like AC3 liberation and Phantasy Star Online mean i wouldn’t be able to stay away forever.
i would love a white one, i had a white psp originally, until the screen stopped working, actually i still have it i just can’t use it.

As has been said before, Monster Hunter is what Vita needs in Japan. Encouraging to see growth; but worring to see how poorly its still selling in comparison to its direct competition.

i’ve never figured out why japan is so in love with the Monster Hunter series.
i mean, they’re decent games and all, but there’s not a lot of meat on the bones so to speak.
they don’t seem to have any kind of plot, there’s no easy way to control the camera, which makes the lack of any kind of lock on feature that much more annoying.

Winter’s approaching… and you all know what that means, CHRISTMAS!
That’s right, I personally can’t wait for the sales boom for Sony! :D

Winter is Coming.
It’s not Christmas I’d be worried about.

What are you worried about? The hibernation?
