Rockstar have released two new screenshots from their upcoming Grand Theft Auto V, as part of their Asked & Answered series on their blog (via GAF).
“We are very busy working on the game! Everything is going well, but the game is a huge project. We should have more information and some new assets for you soon,” they said.
In response to requests for more information, Rockstar added that “we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future” because “we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it.”

“We just have not been in a position to show more of the game than the trailer and will not be for a while yet. We did, however, manage to sneak a quick screenshot out for you… it’s not much, but we thought it was pretty fun.”
“We will try and get some more screens for you soon and then another trailer when we are ready,” they added, although there’s no date on when this might be.
Have a look at the screens below and tell us what you think.

Looks the same as the last….

It really doesn’t though does it?
First pic seems quite similar, but Liberty was never that huge. Second pic is a massive graphical leap from IV.
I fail to see how it’s the ‘same’! :)

To me, it looks the same. Yes graphically it looks better, but it still the same old stuff. An open world can be too big IMO. You can become lost in a game sometimes.

Oh agreed, but likewise i am not sure what else you were expecting from a GTA game?
They are always open world in nature (since PS2 at least) & i just hope that they can get back to a Vice City type game & inject some balls to the wall fun back into it.

Indeed, I’m really hoping for a return to the PS2 style of GTA. The last GTA on PS3 just didn’t do it for me, I played through the storyline, and after that there was no urge to do anything else with the game apart from sell it.

Personally, i think these look great – I just hope they get back to a ‘Vice City-esque’ feel to the game & have less ‘dating’ in this one.

I suspect you will abuse your powers er.. i mean request that you get to review GTA5 when it comes out. ;)

The first screen dump is very impressive and has an excellent draw distance. As for the second one, looks good but doesn’t really tell us anything about GTA5 except that pools are included.

Is it just me or what? Kind of getting a Vice-City feeling with these screenshots…

The city looks nice a big!

The color its back!

Looks really nice, was very disappointed with the last one, hopefully this will capture me.
Does any one wonder if there is a larger reason why they have kept quiet? Like that it’s going to be on the next generation? Or am I being a fool, and just thinking everything that isn’t being spoken about is going to be next gen.

The power of GTA…
Two screenshots it takes to make headlines.

drooolllllllllllll
I want to play this now – after repeatedly dying in Dragon’s Dogma I feel an excessive need to fire a rocket launcher at innocent people walking down the streets of Liberty City
Forrest_01
Better pick up GTA IV then – GTA V won’t be set in Liberty. :)
