Amazing Renders Of The New PS3 CECH-4000

The leaked images of the new CECH-4000 slimmer PS3 weren’t clear – if they were real at all – but most looked at them and thought they were a bit ugly.

However, these Photoshop renders, by NeoGAF member MYE, make it look infinitely better, see:

Even that slightly bizarre top sliding disk thing looks lovely in these images.

  3. don’t care wot it looks like as long as it can be on all day without melting the insides and its fans are quieter than the other models that’s me done

  4. just wondering how that sliding door will keep dust out. otherwise, as my phat model is on its last legs this new model is coming at a perfect time for me.

  5. Assuming this is the design of a new PS3 and taking the whole ‘remove disc’ thing to mean that the user manually removes the disc, does that mean when you hit remove disc on the XMB it will make the top bit slide open for your grubby hands to get at the disc?

    Maybe it has a mechanical arm that grabs the disc out for you?

  7. I quite like it, I’d certainly pay £99-£150 for this to replace my 60GB as when watching DVD’s/Blu Ray’s the console is far too loud.

  8. Hardly see the point in this though, the PS3 slim slim?

    If it was better suited as a media station like the launch PS3’s I would be very tempted by this – eg more usb slots and bringing back card slots. But I see that’s not happening. So its just a refined slim, price may be good though.

    • Just being pedantic but i think it’ll be called the PS3 slim, as the old phatty was Playstation3 – the new slim was then abbreviated to PS3.
