We’re Going Back To Eurogamer Expo – Win Tickets And Come Too!

Last year, some of us went to the Eurogamer Expo down in That London. We rented a house, ate more pizza than a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and visited the show for interviews, developer sessions, game previews and other general shenanigans. I made a video introducing what we would be doing before everyone else arrived and it became impossible to move in the house without kicking over an empty (if you’re lucky) beer bottle.

This year, we’re going back. There will be several of us there for the full four days of the show, with several others joining us at the weekend. We’re currently discussing what sort of things we’d like to get up to and how best to present that to you guys. At the moment we’re planning to scoop some video interviews, report on the dev sessions and get plenty of hands-on write ups about the games that are there. We’ll also be recording several podcasts, with some special guests, over the course of the show. We might even set up a webcam and stream those live.

But, we also want to hear from you about what you’d like to see over the course of the show. Should we film an arthouse documentary about the struggle to obtain the best coverage we can get or should we dick about doing funny voices and making Kris dress like a fool and dance again? Do you want more of me in the bath or would you rather keep your lunch down? More podcasts?

Let us know in the comments below and, as an added incentive, you could win one of five pairs of tickets for either the Thursday or Sunday at Eurogamer Expo. Just give us an idea of what you want to see from TSA’s EGX coverage and tell us if you want to be eligible for the prize draw. We’ll select winners and let you know this time next week. You’ll have to pay your own travel costs to Earl’s Court too, so keep that in mind. Finally, if you’re a winner, hunt us down at the show and we’ll give you some extra TSA goodies too.

  1. What if i am not entering (due to already going on the Saturday) – Should i hunt you down too, or is that only applicable to winners?? :P

    • everyone who is attending from TSA should find us and say hello, at least. I should get badges or stickers or something made up again really.

      • Cool – How should i find you amongst all those people?

Will you be the one wearing the carnation & looking a little uneasy? :)

      • You’ll need a high powered rifle and a bottle of beer as bait. Or look for a chubby bloke followed about by a tall guy holding a video camera. That’ll be us.

We may also tweet we where we are during the day.

      • Dammit & i had already stocked up on tranq darts as well.

Ok, chubby, tall, video camera… Is that not Michael Moore?? I think i might have skimmed a bit too much there.

Tweeting could work i suppose. Unless its along the lines of something like “we are at eurogamer!”. :D

  2. As a thing for you guys to do, if you meet any of the Eurogamer writers or staff, when talking to them you must airquote anything they ‘say’ (see what I did there) in order to provide an interesting, pretentious and sarcastic undertone to the conversation…..
….. Lets see how they like it.

Also you must ask them what they think of EA, then run for cover.

But in all seriousness, I’d like to know of stuff beyond the three main consoles, the PC games, Steam and the little vendors and their gems that don’t get the usual coverage. And from the funnier perspective, bar the EG staff related baiting (which MUST happen), some form of Dennis Pennis like creation interviewing people for shocks would be great, or where said creation forces people to watch Kris dancing and give him a game-related score on the scale of ‘Amy’ to ‘Skyrim’

  3. What’s Eurogamer?

  4. I cant make it this year, I am disappointed Im missing it but a honeymoon in mexico makes the pain just about bearable ;-)
I am disappointed I wont get to meet you guys though, I missed you last year coz I was in the Vita queue
    Maybe next year!!

  5. More info about the more obscure indie games across all platforms.

More interviews like the recent Futurlab one. Also after Studio Liverpool’s closure it would be interesting to hear what each studio think is the best game their studio had cancelled.

Also interesting to hear what studios think are the best games that didn’t sell well. Any great games that gamers as a whole missed.

  6. All interviewees, at some point should be asked ‘Whats your favourite Dinosaur’? and challenged to a ‘best of three’ thumb war at the end of the interview.

As a side podcast/video diary. One staff member should go around testing games and interviewing as if they have absolutely no prior knowledge of gaming. Or better still, rope in someones grandparents to do it. Complete with full stereotype ‘back in my day sonny…’ comments. See how wound up they get trying to explain the controls on their latest games.

TSA’s Chosen mode of tranport around the event should be Space hoppers. with all interviews performed in full bounce inc. interviewee.

    :-)

I would like to be entered into the draw. Although I fear I may be blacklisted after these suggestions.

  7. i think some good ol fashioned drinking games would be funny, say concede a goal on fifa, take a shot. get killed on COD, take a shot. im trying to think of some decent games but my minds blank. maybe some free eurogamer tickets would freshen my memory…

  8. Aw man if only I could make it to that there london. Even If I got a ticket there’s no way I could afford to get down there but I’d want you guys to film a tense high speed chase through the expo with Kev dressed as Drake and Kris dressed as Batman and not just any Batman. 1960’s Batman.

  9. Can we not video any staff hazing rituals.

  10. look i’m cutting to the chase here!
how many beers will it take to get me a ticket?(talking good stuff here not your nancy boy aussie crap)
i promise to behave myself if i get a chance to hang out with you guys.
and i wont touch anything i promise..
    please please please…..
