Earlier today, we met Lorne Lanning and Stewart Gilray for a chat. It was awesome, we had a beer and got a sneaky peek at the Abe’s Oddysee HD gameplay footage they were about to show to the the world at Eurogamer. There’ll be a video interview from us in a day or two but in the meantime you can get a look at the footage below.
In the interests of full disclosure, I should say that we’re quite friendly with JAW and that Lorne Lanning was one of my game design heroes when I was still young enough to need to save up pocket money to buy his games. Now that’s out of the way, Abe’s Oddysee HD looks absolutely amazing. Here, have a look.

This is looking brilliant, a bit dark but hopefully thats just my phone. Can’t wait to get totally punished by Abe, the first couple of games were bloody hard.

I’ve been playing the PS1 version on and it’s great fun, but this is just fantastic looking. It’ll be so much better with the HD visuals.
