Following in the footsteps of Battlefield 3, developer Danger Close has confirmed the Xbox 360 version of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be split across two discs.
Senior designer Ben Jones confirmed the news:
I think that might be a reality for us as well, it’s DVD format versus Blu-ray and you’re going to see that split at certain times, especially with the amount of content that we’re delivering.
Given that Warfighter is built on the Frostbite 2 engine, the same engine used in Battlefield 3, this shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise. It is yet to be confirmed whether, like Battlefield, an HD texture install will be required although we think it’s highly likely.
Disc swapping isn’t too much of a hassle, especially if the split is simply one disc for the campaign and one disc for multiplayer. That being said, is it something that would lead you to choose one platform over another?

This would be really annoying especially swapping discs for single and multiplayer. I think that was the case for battlefield 3.

Oh no, the poor 360 owners will have to swap discs due to the HD-DVD capacity being lower then a bluray. The horror, the sick barstewards. *in very bored voice*
If you are going to refuse to get MOH:Warfighter just because of the two discs, then you are lazy and petty. I suspect most people won’t care about the two discs unless the game is crap, in which case, they probably care about how much would they get for it.
