We quite liked F1 Race Stars in our most recent hands-on preview, and whilst we’re bubbling away with the full review it’s worth mentioning that if you’re on the fence about the game there’s a playable demo landing tomorrow.
The demo’s just one track (Germany) but it’ll support both single-player and up to four-player split-screen, so you can get an idea of what the game’s like with local multiplayer. In the build we’ve got it’s still lovely and smooth, which is nice to see.
The demo, which lets you play as Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel or Kimi Räikkönen, should be out as part of SCEE’s PSN Store Update tomorrow, although Xbox 360 owners will be able to grab it later today.
F1 Race Stars is a ‘kart-esque’ take on the sim, with much simpler handling and bright, colourful graphics. The target market might not be your average hardcore gamer, but it’s a fun diversion and a good laugh with some mates. Sadly, there’s no drifting…
Look out for our full review soon.
