Sony’s currently ramping up their PS3 and Vita titles via a series of press events. The first, which resulted in a hugely receptive showing of Killzone Mercenary, also featured Tearaway, Media Molecule’s inventive looking platform / puzzler which features you an as in-game god.
Tearaway’s press demonstration focused on a new area, Sogport, which is a “mysterious island marooned in a deep sea of glue, and inhabited by some very fishy folk with a fearful obsession with the island’s monstrous local wildlife.”
Media Molecule also showed off a second character – atoi – who can be selected at the beginning of the game (instead of the previously shown iota).
There’s something refreshing about Sony’s early year demonstrations – they really help to cement what’s coming in the year ahead and whet everyone’s appetite for E3. Of course, this year will be slightly different, but it’s good to see that the Vita is still getting first party games.
