Robert Bowling, who left Infinity Ward because there was “too much ‘pew pew’ not enough new new” has announced his first game with new studio Mighty Rabbit Studios – it’s an iPhone (and Android) shooter called Breach & Clear.
It’s a “tactical strategy game” featuring special forces from around the world “in a number of missions centered on taking out terrorist groups” which does sound a little bit familiar.
“We’re hoping to change the conversation about what denotes a mobile game,” says Bowling. “With Breach & Clear, we’ve taken the design principles of creating a major console release and transferred that to a title that just so happens to be launching on mobile devices.”
“Our focus is to take a gameplay experience and mechanic that is built from the ground up for mobile or touch control and enhance it with the depth and progression you’d expect from a AAA console release,” added Bowling.
The game will be out in spring 2013.

As much as I like the idea of gaming being available on mobile devices, nothing replaces the controller-in-my-hands and a lovely big TV feeling. I do hope it comes to other devices if it performs well.

I was hoping for a console/PC game, but I’m still interested in it. I hope its a bit like Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard.
