A recent interview with Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, has revealed that all of Sony’s first-party studios are working on PS4 titles. When asked by IGN “is it fair to say that all of the first party studios are working on PS4 games?” Yoshida answered “It is fair to say”.
While the Sony announcement event showed us what Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, Sony Japan and Evolution Studios are working on, that leaves plenty of speculation for what we can expect to see from the other nine studios.
Given that two of those four are new titles within existing franchises, it’s safe to assume with some inevitability that we’ll see titles such as Uncharted and Gran Turismo at some point within the PS4’s lifecycle.
As with many of the post-announcement interviews, no further details were forthcoming. However, it’s interesting to consider what studios such as Sony Bend are working on, particularly as beyond their recent portable Uncharted titles their key franchise is Syphon Filter.
With the release of the PS4, is now the perfect time for a return from the series, perhaps being realised as some form of stealth and combat based MMORPG? Or will we instead see a fresh next-generation IP? We may only have to wait until E3 to find out.

There was also a post on IGN over the weekend that Evolution will go back to the Motorstorm franchise in the not too distant future.

#Waves back# perhaps the consensus is I should just stay out here?
Glad to be here!

YES! Also, don’t drink anything Tuffcub gives you! I should probably leg it now as Tuffcub seems to be looking at me, in an angry, going to kill you way. Or worse, he’ll drag me back to his cave and force me to watch a Uwe Boll film! *legs it to mexico*

Ok, no drinks, no visits to a cave – are there any other things that I should be aware of?

And the sky is blue. I’m not surprised as Sony would want to get a decent line up of both third and 1st party games for the launch as well as to say “Here is what the PS4 is capable of, just look at the games by our developers.” I am hoping that they won’t be relying on existing franchises as i would love to see new IPs, hopefully, not another Haze make an appearance on the PS4. I suspect the Uncharted franchise will make an appearance, i predict Uncharted Karting but i can see ND ending the franchise after the next game as they don’t like to keep a franchise going for too long. In fact, many people think that UC3 wasn’t as good as UC2. I agree as it had too many set pieces and the plot was not as good as the second one.
I can see TLG getting released on the PS4 as well as Agent. I would love to see an open world RPG get released by a Sony owned Developer as i want to see what the PS4 can do with open world RPGs. That and i may like Open World RPGs, i’m not sure. :p I really hope Bald Spartan Kills everyone Simulator doesn’t get another game on the PS4 as there is not much that they can do with him. Plus, i personally think they should put the franchise to rest. Anyway, to avoid this comment from being bigger then the article and causing Dom El to either cry or to hit me with a computer, i will end it here. May take it to the forums.

Are Naughty Dog 1st Party? I thought they were technically independent despite their strong Sony affiliation.
Dom El
They started out as an independent, but were acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001 :)
Lucky for us!
