Probably the finest first person shooter ever hits Steam today, courtesy of Devolver Digital, for just seven quid. The so-called Megaton Edition includes a big pile of expansion packs (Duke Caribbean: Life’s a Beach, Duke: Nuclear Winter, and Duke It Out in DC) and a few tweaks, like Achievements.
Duke Nukem 3D was (and is) a brilliant game – yes it’s dated somewhat visually (it is 17 years old) – but the level design is largely superb and it’s packed with jokes and references to other games and movies. The game supports SteamPlay on PC and Mac, and multiplayer over Steamworks is planned for a future update.
The video says it’s out now, but it’s not yet on Steam. Check back later.

Wow. Not a chance in the world from my perspective. I wouldn’t even give it a second thought. Iconic and a classic but certainly not the finest. Would the original Half Life be considered an FPS? Surely. If so, that would have my money if I was a gambling man.
