Uncharted Is “Over” As Sony Registers Domains For The Last of Us Sequels

Sony have regisistered domains for The Last Of Us 2 and 3.

It is far to early for Sony to talk about a sequel as the first game is not out but as there are three games in the Uncharted series we may see yet more of Joel and Ellie, probably on PlayStation 4.

Slightly more concerning is this video from Naughty Dog’s Judd Simantov.

His presentation shows the techniques he used in modeling and rigging the game’s primary characters, and he covers special considerations for artists who want to maximize realism and evoke an emotional response from players.

At the 14m 20s mark says “Now that the Uncharted series is over, we had the opportunity to re-evaluate certain things.”

Over? Uncharted? No more Drake? No more Sully? Elena? Chloe? Surely not.

Last week we went hands on with The Last Of Us, check out the preview here.

  1. There goes my reason to buy a PS4, it really was the console seller for me, now as long as MS have complete exclusivity for a 4th Fable (ie; No PC version), I think ill be going Microsoft this time.

  2. Uncharted 3 was called the dissapointing one or maybe one too many by a lot of gamers at the time if I remember. It didn’t live up to the hype for many, so maybe ND have listened to it’s customer and decided to back burner the series for a possible Tomb-Raider style rebirth in the distant next gen future.
Good move by ND in my opinion, think the series would have been overkilled by a UC 4 release as we’ve seen with other series that have gone a game too far. it needs a sesh in rehab for re-evaluation.
