Sony’s E3 Live Stream Will Be Coming To Vita In Europe

Currently, the YouTube app on the PlayStation Vita is slightly limited in its functionality. It doesn’t allow for a channel’s live streaming of events. The system traditionally used by Sony to stream its conference works through Ustream, and also fails to function on PlayStation Vita.

But, in response to a question on the EU PS Blog, Fred Dutton has promised that they will be streaming in a way that works on Vita.

It’s unclear what this method might be, although the person posing the question asks specifically about an upgrade to the YouTube app or a brand new app like the Nico Nico social video app that has been available for the Vita in other regions for a year and streamed the E3 conferences last year. It seems slightly odd that there’s no dedicated Ustream app just yet, given the partnership that PlayStation is entering into with that service on PlayStation 4.

So, it’s a bit vague and we don’t know exactly how yet, but at least we know that the effort is being made to get Sony’s press event streamed to all of its devices. They’ll need to be quick, though, the show is scheduled for 10th June at 6PM – that’s 2AM on Tuesday 11th June in the UK. That’s less than two weeks from now.

  2. fuck just th eu lol I’m in Vegas at the time!!

  3. It’s a great idea if it works. I don’t want to be logging onto my laptop at 2am but i definitely don’t want to miss the Sony conference.

  4. Hope they’ll do some sort of dedicated app to ensure it actually works (having experience the terrible, never-working live streams held in PS Home).

  5. Usually I watch the E3 on Eurogamer but the last few times there site seem to fall on its arse.

Don’t think I will watch it live ,when I watched the Ps4 reveal in Feb I was like the walking dead all day

  6. Thanks but no thanks, I’d rather watch it live on my massive telly :D
