Mirror’s Edge 2 Appears Online, Again, For Xbox One

Given EA’s current propensity to favour Microsoft-based announcements, news (again) that a Mirror’s Edge 2 has appeared online dressed in Xbox clothing should surprise no-one.

This time it was the Italian branch of online retailer Amazon, who swiftly removed the pre-order page (but not before it was print-screened).

Why this is only being shown with green casing might suggest some kind of xbox exclusive, then, although the previous outing was for the current-gen 360 rather than the all-new One, announced last week and due later this year.

There’s a nervous twitch suggesting this might be a Kinect thing. Let’s hope not.

  1. Yeah. I can see it now…Running and Jumping on the spot. Throwing punches at the camera…

  2. This is the sort of game which would convince me to get a X1 over PS4. Mirror’s Edge was awesome and a sequel in long overdue – providing it isn’t a Kinect title of course…

    • Why? ME came out on ps3 and x360 so I’m sure it will be the same case next gen

      • Well this article is suggesting mirror’s edge 2 may be an exclusive. That’s why I presume Eldave0 says X1 over PS4 if a choice had to be made. It is a brilliant game. However, I can’t help but notice Eldave’s avatar o.0

Either way it wouldn’t sway me if it were exclusive. I want a games console not a media PC.

      • Sorry, yes the article suggests it might be an X1 exclusive – which would make sense given how chummy Microsoft and EA are these days. I appreciate for many, Mirrors Edge 2 wouldn’t be a “system seller” but I found the original to be a breath of fresh air so would support a sequel 100%.

Lol, ahh yes, the avatar. Simple explanation, nothing fanboyish, my mate and I have just started an X1 blog :-)

      • I doubt EA – or any other 3rd party publisher – can afford to have major titles as platform exclusives anymore – especially given that it’s likely to be very easy to support both platforms from a coding standpoint. You’ll see exclusives from in-house teams certainly, but this’ll be a timed exclusive at most.

      • Actually it would make sense. Mirror’s Edge 1 was not financially successful, so getting a nice exclusivity bonus up front would take a lot of risk out of the equation.
However, the fact that there are rumors about a this gen version for both the PS3 and 360 floating around makes this less believable.

  3. If this is an xbox exclusive then I can see it swaying a few gamers to whichever console purchase, as well as there being a monumental backlash from fans of the first.

  4. Is there ever an occasion where preorders like this are put up by an Amazon employee looking to cause a bit of excitement?

  5. I reckon this is done on purpose, I also doubt its exclusive to Xbox One.

  6. Am I the only gamer that hated the first game? If it is a XBox One exclusive though, it will no doubt be Kinect based and ruined by EA. They managed to ruin Dead Space and Mass Effect so Mirror’s Edge is hardly a challenge for them.

  7. The orginal was brilliant but this wouldn’t sway me into the X1 as i’m sure that it will come to PS.

  8. They can keep it, I thought it was rubbish…

  9. Timed exclusive for XO perhaps. I liked the parkour of the first game but not how i kept dying in a hail of bullets. :/
