Sony Shifting PSP Titles At Budget Prices

Though still popular in some parts of the world, it’s fair to say that the PSP’s days are numbered both here in Europe and the United States.

It had a fantastic run and pumped out some truly fantastic titles (Monster Hunter, anyone?) but with no new releases scheduled and the progressive emergence of the PS Vita, many will have no doubt retired the spunky little handheld.

In homage to some of system’s most prolific games, Sony will be launching a PSP sale later today with some pretty hefty discounts on first party software. Here’s the breakdown:

LittleBigPlanet
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

God of War: Chains of Olympus
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

MotorStorm Arctic Edge
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

ModNation Racers
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Resistance: Retribution
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Patapon 2
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

LocoRoco 2
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Killzone: Liberation PLA
Was €7.99/£6.49, now €3.99/£3.19

Each of the games listed above is well worth a try. SOCOM and Resistance are sterling shooters despite the PSP’s lack of a second joystick. Patapon and LocoRoco are also classic exclusive franchises which we’ll hopefully see reincarnated on the Vita.

There’s also a few great action/adventure hits in there as well as the UGC-driven ModNation Racers and LittleBigPlanet.

Note that all games are compatible with PS Vita.

  1. Both God of Wars, R&C and maybe Resistance for me. They won’t quite end up being played now, as memory is cramped, but ah well.

    • All these discounts are subject to a 20% plus discount which is a handy extra, making them £2.55 each

  2. Excellent, i’ll grab Loco Roco 2 from that lot.

  3. Some really good games at very good prices there.

  4. Might finally get Resistance. Meant to buy it years ago but kept putting it off for some reason…

    • resistance is not a bad game. even with the cheesy voice acting.

  5. would love to get these, but sadly space is at a premium & am not spending silly money on a larger Memory card (yet anyway).

  6. Meh… rather disappointing that they’re only First party games. The PSP got so many great 3rd party exclusives (or er… Rpgs ) in its final years. Would’ve been nice to see stuff like Disgaea, Cladun and many others to be round £3.
