Saints Row IV E3 Trailer

Let’s face it, Saints Row IV isn’t about the realism that the other open world third person adventure is sticking to. Rather, it’s about cheesy one-liners, daft superpowers and an alien race hell-bent on taking over the world.

Oh, and dubstep.

And nudity.

And the president of the United States.

  1. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Cannot WAIT for this to come out!

  2. As a fan of the first and second Saints Row games, I was disappointed at how stupid The Third became. I still sort of enjoyed it, but in a ‘its so bad its good’ way.

But this looks like a monstrosity, its so painfully different to the first and has lost all appeal to me as a GTA alternative. Its good to be silly, but this looks a bit embarrassing. Just my opinion!

  3. Can I just point something out, and I’m being sensible and leaving the smut at door for a moment.

Can anyone else remember a game trailer having that much – and more importantly, ONLY – male nudity? Not a single tit shot.

    • i certainly can’t.
but then if i had, i’d probably try to forget it pretty sharpish. ^_^

and you could argue it’s only male nudity because as usual they went with a male version of the lead rather than a female.

how many games that allow you to choose the gender of your player character ever actually promote the game with the female version of the protagonist?

  4. I wouldn’t say GTA V is going to be too realistic with some of the things you can apparently do. I still prefer Grand Theft Auto’s more lighter tone on silliness. Saints Row has just taken it too far in my opinion to the point where it has become a mess – and they can throw anything in and use the excuse of ‘but it’s fun and ridiculous’ even if it makes no sense at all.

  5. Awesome trailer. Highlight has to be the punch to the bollocks that lifts the guy off of the ground!

What I like/love here is that the developers aren’t happy with making the game more silly. They want to make it more outlandishly silly with a reason to back it up. Top marks regardless of how it turns out.

  6. As I’ve mentioned before, I think it’s time we all stopped always comparing SR to GTA. They are nothing alike anymore. Well no more so than say, Far Cry 3. SR should be judged on it’s own merit, imo.

  7. Total Mass Effect 2 jump in there right?
