Metal Gear Solid V Confirmed for Next-Gen In MS Presser

Microsoft have opened their E3 conference with footage of Metal Gear Solid V, which has now been confirmed as a next gen title. The new trailer shows off the open world nature of the game.

The main protagonist this time is Punished Snake, which we assume is a code name for Big Boss, as he works alongside Miller. The trailer itself showed off real time passing, the use of various transport including horses, trucks and tanks. It also showed the game move seamlessly from a cutscene into gameplay without any noticeable change in quality.

Other characters include Skull Face, who looks to be the main antagonist, as well as Emmereich, Code Talker and Ocelot. The part that was shown off was set in Afghanistan, showing dirt roads with dust being kicked up. It also showed Snake taking down enemies.

  1. Looks pretty good.

  2. That looks…incredible

  3. Very nice. Almost looks too good to be true.

  4. Looks brilliant. Definite buy from me.

  5. Was I the only person to watch the start of the video & wish that it was Red Dead 2?? :)

    • No, I thought this when I saw a snippet of it! Red Dead Revenge/Revolution. Will probably never see a Rockstar game at E3 though.

  6. Wow! That was a big surprise. Kiefer sounds alright too, if there’s enough post-coma change in character then his voice could really work.

  7. Looks amazing, liking the move to open world – still shame about the change of voice.

Otherwise looks like a typical Metal Gear – including massive cleavage and spooky villains lol – no sign of the actual MG though…

  8. Brilliant, although this has been cut short. They will be showing and extended 9 minute trailer tomorrow with some screenshots and some explanation from Kojima. Cant wait!

  9. Awesome! It was very tempting to write that in caps. This is the game I’m looking forward to the most, my faith in Kojima-san is absolute and I have no doubt it will be absolutely amazing.
