Nintendo have just lifted the lid on the new Super Smash Bros. titles, which are set to release on 3DS and Wii U in 2014.
At first I was a bit disappointed, as it appeared to have a heavily cel-shaded style, though the trailer soon revealed that this look was for the 3DS version only – the Wii U game will have a more realistic, HD style akin to Brawl.
Fan favourites such as Mario, Kirby, Samus, Link, Pikachu and Fox will be returning – the original lot – and Animal Crossing’s Villager will be a new playable character. As well as this, Mega Man will be joining the battle in the most spectacular of ways.
There are very few other details right now, with no confirmation of any modes and game types, though we’ll find out more in the run up to release, which is at some point in 2014.
The games don’t have full titles yet either; they’re just named Super Smash Brothers for 3DS and Super Smash Brothers for Wii U as of now.
