If you haven’t gone and bought The Last of Us yet, you’re a very bad person. I hope that’s not too harsh, but I simply can’t think of a game which has grabbed me and not let go in quite the same way.
Oh alright, I’ll give the first five people who have a decent excuse a pass, but as for the rest of you…
I had a lovely response after last week, and got a few people sending me their rigs, but I’ll always need more so please keep sending me photos!
Stepping up to the plate for this week was tactical20, with quite a considered set up:
First 2 are the vast majority of my PS3 games (and a few dvds/blu-rays). They are just the boxes actually. My wife made me put games/dvds in neat and tidy CD wallet things on the front room book shelf, and the boxes go in storage bags under the spare room bed. I don’t have any exciting special editions, except for my BioShock 2, which came with an art book.
My TV is a 52″ Samsung and I have my PS3 slim (phat died a couple of years ago), Samsung surround sound and Sky+ HD underneath. I also have a Move controller and Buzz/Singstar things gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.
Above the TV are a couple of signed prints from Invader. He is a French street artist I’m into, (have you seen Exit Through The Gift Shop?) and he is famous for replicating space invaders and other video game characters with ceramic tile mosaics, which he then places on the streets of cities all around the world.
He also messes about with other square/grid formats, such as Rubik Cubes, and with QR codes he saw an opportunity to use tiles to create mosaic art which is both ancient in concept, and high tech and modern in function. Genius really!
Anyway, to fund all this travelling and boxes of tiles/Rubik Cubes, he occasionally releases limited run prints through the same arthouse as Banksy, and I am lucky enough to own five of them. Two of which are these QR inspired prints.
If you are a Londoner, you may have spotted some of his pieces, as there are now about 120 odd spread across London from Brixton, to Hackney, to Notting Hill, and at least 50 in Soho/Covent Garden.
I must admit, those QR code inspired pieces caught my attention.
Please do help out and share your set ups by getting in touch with me on Twitter at @teflon, or just sending an email out of the blue to [email protected] If you do the latter, don’t forget to chuck your TSA ID in there, so I know who you are!
By the time you read this, I will have finished my first play through of The Last of Us, which isn’t all that far away for me as I type this. In fact, I’m taking a break from it to just decompress from everything, listen to a spot of salsa music, and let me savour the final few sections. It is one hell of an experience, that’s for sure.
I do hope that the issues with the autosave function yesterday have been resolved for everyone, and that it hasn’t tarnished the experience for too many of you. I know that Crazy_Del actually finished the game, but lost a whopping 5 hours of game time to this problem. He did at least finish Fuse on hard, and polished off his Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel platinum.
Element666 nabbed himself the Tomb Raider platinum, and is closing in on Far Cry 3’s too. However, he has nothing on the mighty Youles, who took The Darkness 2 and Tomb Raider for his 49th and 50th platinums, respectively. Oh, and there’s a rather different accomplishment in the birth of his (inFamous) second son!
We do have a few further fastest platinum records this week, with Matthangzhou grabbing one at his third attempt, with Terraria. Samiro05 also posted a Remember Me record which he expects to be beaten, coming in on 13/06 at 21:43. Have you bettered that time?
Taylor Made took the Prototype 2 platinum, bemoaning that a third is not on the way, whilst R1MJAW finished off his Grid 2 career, and Germanos earned himself a a well deserved break after completing his run through of Dark Souls.
Darth Newdar plundered Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for its Platinum, and now has crossed his fingers that a fifth title might, just maybe, hopefully get made.
Thechunkymunky has blitzed through Uncharted: Golden Abyss over the last few weeks, to grab his first Vita-based platinum. Meanwhile, BadBoyBoogie might be scratching his head as to where all that time went, as he managed to hit his 5000th trophy whilst playing through The Walking Dead.
Finally, in a delectable moment of irony, a inferior race announced that he had finally hit Level 17 with his PSN trophy count… except that our trophy leaderboard curator hasn’t updated his PSN card yet!
That’s almost your lot, but you can head over to page two for the fastest platinums board. To finish off this page, we have the usual submission form for photos and accomplishments. Don’t hold back!
