Undead Labs and Microsoft have announced that State Of Decay has sold over half a million copies, making it the fastest selling original title on XBLA. State Of Decay is a survival title, seeing you survive a world filled with zombies. It could be compared to DayZ, though State Of Decay was first announced in 2011 as Class3.
The developers behind State Of Decay did mention in their interview with Microsoft that the game will be making the jump to the PC through Steam, though things like mod support were not touched upon. A new sandbox mode is being developed as well focusing purely on the survival aspect of the game, allowing players to create their own stories instead of playing through the game’s plot.
There are also plans for a State Of Decay MMO, codenamed Class4, but negotiations with Microsoft are still in early stages. Undead Labs can’t start development on it until terms are agreed as Microsoft owns the IP rights.

Impressive stuff. The game is a broken mess at the moment but the potential is huge, so hopefully these issues are ironed out soon.

Will definitely keep an eye out for when it appears on Steam.

Looks like a fun game, but abundant screen tearing let’s it down imo. (Day Z is the way to go for me.)
