After years of waiting, it looks like we’ll finally get to see the next step in one of Ubisoft’s most beloved series. That’s according to the latest message posted on the games’ official Facebook page:
Get ready for some news about Prince of Persia, starting next week…
The announcement has already drawn a response from thousands of fans around the world but there’s no clue as to what this next Prince of Persia could be. A common suggestion, as seen in the Facebook comments, is an open-world game akin to Assassin’s Creed though, with Black Flag and Watch Dogs in the pipeline, another sandbox game could brand Ubisoft as a one-tricky pony.
Personally, I’d like to see the publisher pick up where it left the 2008 spin-off. Though a fairly short and linear game, it was enjoyable from start to finish with a decent story, characters, and mechanics.
Whatever it is, we’ll be sure to know this time next week. Until then, feel free to speculate.

@PoorDaddy89. Can you really expect to get a great battle system out of a series when you go backwards? PoP 2008 was a good game but lacked more action than in the HD Trilogy. Personally I thought Forgotten Sands was best game so far – just a shame it was not longer. I also thought TFS was part of the HD trilogy mythology anyway?
