Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us has shifted more than 3.4 million copies, as of last Tuesday (so it’s undoubtedly even more just now) – that makes it the fastest selling PS3 game of 2013 and the fastest selling new software title in the entire history of PlayStation.
That’s not bad numbers for a new IP in just three weeks.
“These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us,” said Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.
“The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example.”
That’s 1,000 sales for every word of my review. I think.

Not too shabby for a brand new IP, let alone that it’s released during the summer gaming lull!

Great news for ND shows just how great of a developer they are, very impressive sales for a new IP.

Absolutely stunning game IMO. Finally rounded off the single player trophies this evening (it’s very rare for me to play a game through twice in quick succession so that says it all), so now on to the multiplayer… :-)

TLOU is a replacement for UC Karting which would have been on PS3 lol.
UC4 is what I want on PS4 so we can say goodbye properly to the UC franchise.
