EA Offering The Great Game Guarantee Through Origin

EA are offering a new refund policy on all EA published games, which have been purchased through the Origin service on PC and Mac. They’re calling it the Great Game Guarantee, which will give you up to seven days to return digital purchases for a full refund.

There are three different situations where a refund can be had. First, you can get a refund on an EA title within 24 hours of starting the game if you don’t like it. Second, you can get a refund within seven days of purchasing an EA title but not playing it. The final option will let you cancel a pre-order seven days before release to claim a full refund.

It should be noted that Steam only offer a full refund on pre-orders, and no such refunds after a game’s release except in certain circumstances.  At the minute EA aren’t extending the guarantee to third party titles or DLC, but  the option is being explored.

  1. Full game trials would have been good enough but this is a great move by the ‘new’ EA. It’s a pity they don’t sell their games anywhere else than origin…

  2. It’s a definite plus for EA this. Hopefully, they will keep trying to learn from their mistakes rather than burying their head in the sand like they have in the past

  3. Wait, so I can start a game, finish it before 24 hours, and then get a full refund? Surely there’s something to prevent that?

  4. alright, they’re finally doing what they’re legally required to do- issuing a refund for broken games.
