The PlayStation 4 is coming to the UK and Europe on Novemeber 29th. That’s just less than a month before Christmas and supplies are already said to be running short thanks to a healthy pre-order period that has seen over a million people commit to a next-gen PlayStation purchase already.
But what will you be playing? Well, Sony has released the full list of games that will be released in the first month as well as their methods of distribution. RRP is going to be set at £54.99 so we’ll cross our fingers and hope for some retailer competition on those prices.
Don’t forget that Playroom comes pre-installed (but you might need that camera if they don’t reverse their decision not to pack it in the box) and if you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus you’ll also be able to download a version of DriveClub to play, for free, too.
Here’s the full list, what are you planning on picking up?

I’ve got Killzone and watch Dogs on preorder. I’ll probably have Plus by this point so I can add Resogun, Driveclub and War Thunder to that list. Planetside 2 and Warframe are also F2P ain’t they? I guess i’ll try those out too.
I might get AC4: Black Flag as well as it looks much more interesting than AC3.
Radboud
As far as I know, you don’t need PS+ for free-to-play games.
So War Thunder, Planetside2, Warframe and DC Universe Online are playable without PS+.
Please correct me if I’m wrong….
RocketSOL
Oh no, the seed of doubt is now in my head. I’m not sure either! :)
I just assumed that you would need plus to play any game online, regardless of whether it is free-to-play or not. But if that is the case then that’s cool. Although, I would need Plus anyway to play Killzone online, I can’t miss out on that! Last time I played online was with KZ2!
Radboud
I recall that they said at E3 that free-to-play is indeed free-to-play and therefore not behind any paywall.
RocketSOL
That’s pretty good then. I know a few people who probably won’t get plus with their PS4 so being able to play F2P games without it is a bonus.

Killzone is the one that gets me proper excited.
JR.
There are a few ok games on there but nothing I would want to pay full price for other than AC4 and Watchdogs. I’m not super excited to be honest.
Is Flower a new game or a port of the PS3 game? They shouldn’t include it in the lineup if it is.
Kivi95
Why not? Even if it’s a port(which I assume) it will still be a PS4 game.
JR.
It just feels out of place. If the PS4 was backwards compatible would they say the launch lineup was hundreds of games?
bunimomike
Flower.. PS4? News to me. What’s that all about. Are they chucking it out with extra-lush visuals? *hopes*
JR.
I hope it’s an add-on or something new. Flower was great. If it is just a straight port, does that mean the DS4 has sixaxis? I’m sure I heard they were scrapping it???

Assassins Creed IV, Battlefield, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Driveclub and Watch_Dogs for me at launch. Maybe even CoD but it won’t be likely
TSBonyman
Killzone and Watchdogs, Driveclub with plus and a couple of the indie titles (and whatever demos are available on the store). That will do for starters.. :)
I’m surprised to see Flower in the list – is it being re-released for PS4?
xdarkmagician
IDK, when you subtract games that have a PS3 version, the only game that stands out is Killzone. Driveclub is irrelevant because you get part of it free, and BF4 will be better on PS4 so I guess you could add CoD too, and probably WatchDogs. So Killzone, BF4,WatchDogs, and CoD, not too impressive IMO. Hopefully the second 30 days will be more focused on PS4 exclusives.

FIFA, Watch Dogs and probs Battlefield, with CoD, Assassin’s Creed and Killzone hopefully not too far behind. I’m after the big blockbusters. Indie stuff can stay on my PS3.
plutoniumdragon
Nothing on that list excites me tbh, there are games in the pipeline that may persuade me that I need a PS4 next year, but not at launch.
