Nintendo UK have announced the first National StreetPass Day, an event aimed to “celebrate everything StreetPass”, which will take place on Saturday September 28th.
On the day Nintendo will be holding special events at London’s Waterloo Station and Manchester’s Piccadilly Station where 3DS owners will have the opportunity to meet like-minded players, increase their StreetPass and compete for prizes in exclusive challenges.
Alongside these competitions there will be real life StreetPass games to play as well as character meet-and-greets with Luigi and various Pokémon.
September 28th also happens to be the Saturday on which Eurogamer Expo falls this year and Nintendo have confirmed visitors to the Earls Court event will find a dedicated StreetPass stand where they will be able to pick up a free Mario hat for their Mii. Smashing!

Nintendo need less of this sort of thing and more work on decent titles.

Yes, because Nintendo have obviously taken developers off games production to staff these events.

I’d just like it to come to a place other than London or Manchester, both bloody miles away. Why not Leeds or Newcastle or Edinburgh. Somewhere more people can get to without a 4 hour train ride.
