So this is one of the stranger press releases I’ve seen, so much so that I feel compelled to pass it on, as a copy of F1 2013 running on PCs and attached to a Vesaro advance simulation rig was dropped into the Houses of Parliament. The mission was to see which MPs were the fastest around Monza.
Happily, it wasn’t just the men who were up for the challenge, with a handful of ladies sitting down behind the racing wheel, including MP Luciana Berger, Vice Chair of the Video Games All Party Parliamentary Group – which I must say sounds like a right hoot, where MPs get to kick back with some Mario Kart or something.
Unfortunately, she’s not as fast as her namesake – the one whose AI gleefully bullied Peter when he previewed F1 2013 – but Tracey Crouch put in a 1:49.200, to sit 5th on the time sheets as the fastest female driver.
In the end, there was barely any fight in the yellow and red side of the government, with a clear and dominant victory for the Conservatives, as Mark Spencer set a speedy 1:40.012 at the head of a top 10 of whom 9 are Tories. Just John Hemmings from the Lib Dems sat in 8th, whilst the fastest Labour MP was Gerry Sutcliffe, down in 13th.
Of course, Lewis Hamilton shouldn’t worry about his race seat, as nobody was anywhere near his time of 1:25.849 at Monza…
| POS | NAME | TIME | PARTY, CONSTITUANCY |
| 1 | Mark Spencer | 1:40.012 | Con, Sherwood |
| 2 | Gavin Barwell | 1:43.207 | Con, Croydon Central |
| 3 | Karl McCartney | 1:44.027 | Con, Lincoln |
| 4 | David Davies | 1:46.898 | Con, Monmouth |
| 5 | Tracey Crouch | 1:49.200 | Con, Chatham and Aylesford |
| 6 | Andrew Percy | 1:49.360 | Con, Brigg and Goole |
| 7 | Jeremy Wright | 1:52.032 | Con, Southam and Kenilworth |
| 8 | John Hemmings | 2:01.036 | Lib Dem, Birmingham Yardley |
| 9 | Andrew Bingham | 2:02.878 | Con, High Peak Derbyshire |
| 10 | Paul Uppal | 2:06.379 | Con, Wolverhampton SW |
As I said, quite an odd press release, but is your MP on the list?
F1 2013 is set to hit the shelves next week, on October 4th for PS3, 360 and PC.

This sounds like an invite to post loads of lame jokes about Tories being used to driving fast everyday in their luxury sports cars.
Bilbo_bobbins
I doubt it, they probably grab a limo and claim it on expenses ;-)

My MP isn’t on there but I suspect he’s passed out drunk in a bar somewhere? Usually is.

Karl McKartney is known for doing nothing for Lincoln, looks like he might spend more time on games.

Shouldn’t they all be doing more important stuff?
