May’s Xbox Games With Gold Brings Castlestorm: Definitive Edition & Mafia II

Following April’s bumper Games With Gold promotion which had six games Microsoft has scaled things back for May, settling at three new additions to the line up. There will be four games available in total but one of those is Pool Nation which will be available for another month on Xbox One. This will be joined by Castlestorm Definitive Edition, while Xbox 360 Gold members will have the opportunity to download Mafia II and F1 2013.

  • CastleStorm: Definitive Edition ($14.99 ERP) Available from May 1-31 on Xbox One
  • Mafia II ($19.99 ERP): Available from May 1-15 on Xbox 360
  • F1 2013 ($49.99 ERP): Available from May 16-31 on Xbox 360

It isn’t the strongest line up that has been seen for the service, but Mafia II is an alright game despite some design issues. Castlestorm: Definitive Edition got an 8/10 in our review so that should be worth checking out.

  1. A lot better for last gen than Sony’s offerings. Mafia 2 is an older game and has been on PS+, but F1 2013 for free is fantastic. I’d happily take that on PS3 no problem.

    • While I agree with you F1 2013 would be a great edition to Ps+ line up, even though I’m not a F1 fan. It would kind of mess up Ps now beta testing as its free for is lucky few on it. Also yes I’ve enjoyed my short time with it.

    • Sony have been giving us AAA games for years. The fact that MS are now giving us (some of) those same games 3 years later doesn’t warrant the tiniest bit of praise. Sony gave them no choice.

      • Not so much praise, just an observation with a bit of opinion :)

I enjoy racing games far too much to ignore the desire to have F1 2013 for free on PS+, that said, the massive backlog I have is courtesy of Sony’s hard work over the last few years on PS+.
