Developers can turn anything in to a game these days, from the micro management of SimCity to mental breakdown of The Lone Survivor, almost every subject has been made in to something you can win by pressing X a lot.
The latest mundane tasks to be spruced up are sweeping and dusting, neatly packaged with a large chunk of platforming and chained attacks in the forthcoming game, Dustforce.
“By mastering the ‘Custodial Arts’ you’ll employ expertly-timed jumps, chained attacks, wall runs, and other precise acrobatics in order to rid the world of dirt, dust, and other forms of grime. Think Dante or Strider, but if they swapped out their swords for Dirt Devils and longbrushes,” explain Capcom.
The four characters, Dustman, Dustgirl, Dustkid, and Dustworth offer their own unique play style and will be challenged over 50+ levels of “hardcore hygiene”. There will also be ranked and private multiplayer matches for up to four players.
The PS3 and PS Vita version will feature crossplay/cross saves, whilst the Vita version will come with and ad-hoc support. The Xbox 360 version will, uhm, be the Xbox 360 version.
The game will be released this January and will cost $9.99/€9.99.
