Microsoft Congratulates Sony On Their PlayStation 4 Launch

Aww. Every now and then we get a bit caught up in who is better, which system is more powerful, and which games have more pixels or frames. That means we forget the heart of it all – the video games, and how brilliant it is when companies try to make some boxes which you can play them on.

Microsoft and Sony have traditionally been considered competitors, so it’s nice to see the Xbox twitter account congratulating the PlayStation account for their launch.

It’s also a good way for them to get endless retweets on the PS4 launch day, but let’s ignore that part and focus on how nice it is. It’s such a good move from Microsoft, and some of the best marketing they’ve done for Xbox recently.

Let’s hope the rest of this generation is as lovely as today.

    • It’s all very gracious and friendly, what a great way to usher in the next generation.

  1. Wish the fanboys had this kind of class

    • What when we can insult ms pffft… Anyhoo they appear to have used a comma incorrectl. Stupid Ms

      • *incorrectly

        Tut tut!

      • It sounds quite sarcastic with that comma there doesn’t it?

    • OUT!
you mentioned the F WORD here at TSA its frowned upon..
trust me ive used it and been told off

  2. I’m not really a MS fan, if it is about games, but this is a nice gesture, I give them that (irrespective if it’s also clever communications-wise).
However, I do think a grown-up is allowed to have very clear preferences and make fun of the competition, without being called a ‘fanboy’ every time.

  3. They are all friends really.

  4. Nice bit of class, said through gritted teeth on both sides i’m sure :)

  5. Good to See MS is not green with envy. heh

  6. The placement of the comma makes this look like a message Sony have posted on a Microsoft wall congratulating Microsoft.

  7. Maybe the excitement of the launches has them all in hood moods but its nice to see positive marketing.

    • Good moods. Dam auto correct on a keyboard!

  8. Larry Hryb comes across so much better in text.

  9. As much as they are in competition, there is also an element of mutual gain as well.
