The PlayStation 4 Is Now Available To Buy

That’s a headline I’ve been waiting to write for years. Now that the clock has struck midnight on the East Coast, Sony’s PlayStation 4 is now available to purchase across the United States for $399. Here in the UK, we’ll have to wait a long two weeks until November 29th until we can get our hands on it.

No doubt thousands of US PlayStation fans are queueing up at midnight launches right now, eager to purchase their console. The first PS4 transaction is likely to be taking place, along with games such as Knack and Killzone.

Everything since February 20th, and even more with all the rumours and speculation over the past few years, with the first post hinting at a PS4 on this site being five years ago. Since then there’s been everything from rumours of the console being named Orbis, to download only, to the fact that you might not be able to trade in your games and everything in between. And now, here we are.

PlayStation means a lot to us here at TSA, and as a new generation of consoles begins, so does a new generation of TSA. We launched our redesign and reshuffled everything a bit early, a few months back, but we’re continuing delivering you daily doses of news, opinion and anything else that might take our fancy – we’ve been ramping up our video content recently, and you can be sure there’s even more incoming.

So, here’s to PlayStation, and to us all. We’ve made it through (almost) an entire console generation – a full six years now – and built a strong community, full of unique and memorable regular members. Thanks for reading – we really couldn’t have done it without you – and we hope you’ll all stay for the ride, and meet us back here in another seven or eight years, as we anticipate the launch of the PlayStation 5.

Until then, let’s enjoy everything the PS4 is going to give us.

  1. Here’s to 6 more!

  2. Thanks for all the work, you’re doing a good job at TSA, and you keep me coming back.

And now, let’s keep our fingers crossed this launch goes smoothly, and those early HDMI problem rumours disappear and PSN works again, and…

  3. The next to weeks are going to take ages. I wish I could do something to speed up time.

    • It might be a good time to work through your PS3 backlog, assuming you have one (and who doesn’t these days thanks to Plus?)

  4. I wanna get drunk now….

  5. Here’s to PS4, TSA, TSA Racing and the entire community! Now… Who has a time machine for skipping over the next two weeks?

  6. Safe to say my involvement here has dwindled to the form of lurker over the past year but I have a strong feeling in 2 weeks that is all going to change.
To Playstation! To TSA! To my mum. Love you all.

    Peace be the journey.

  7. Good morning, did i miss anything? :)
Ta very much for staying up late to grab all the news for us, i’l have to skim through everything while i’m at work but will enjoy it at my leisure this eve.

  8. Just found out a friend of mine is going on a business trip to the US. Does anyone know whether the US version whould work in Europe, given the power brick is internal…? Have heard of some difficulties with US Blu-ray players before, struggling with 230V.

  9. It would appear that there are teething problems for people trying to sign up to SCEA PSN with the PS4 using their established PS3 user accounts. People are getting a “please wait” screen in a continuous loop, although they can still sign in ok using their PS3’s!
    Firmware 1.51 anyone?

    • Thanks to all the US beta testers, we Europeans will get the final version. ;o)
Read this already some hours ago, very much hope they can resolve this quickly.

    • Oh, and on an update note F1 2013 gets it’s console patch update going live today…..eventually!

No forums available so a post it note here will do. :P

  10. Cheers, TSA!
