Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Rudolf Kremers of Omni Systems has revealed that the award winning Eufloria HD will be making its way to the PS Vita a little later this month, launching on 18th December.
It’s a space-based RTS but with a wonderfully minimalist and procedurally generated art style which certainly a flower-like feeling to proceedings, as Euflorians are sent to colonise and conquer the circular asteroids on the map.
Rudolf went into detail about some of the changes and differences that the Vita release of the game will see, compared to the PC and home console version. Eufloria HD seems to have more in common with the controls of the phone and tablet releases of the same name, featuring touch controls rather than buttons and analogue sticks, but with the advantage of the Vita’s locked hardware allowing the team at Titanium Studios to boost the frame rate when porting the title and reach 60Hz, compared to a locked 30Hz.
Regardless of the platform or frame rate, the game is just lovely to look at.

Such a nice game, I’d be interested in getting it on the Vita, but the lack of physical controls are turning me off.

I’m not quite sure I understand it or know how it plays, so hopefully there will be a demo as it looks lovely.

It’s similar to Mushroom Wars if you’ve played that. Moving “troops” between points.
There’s a demo on PS3, at least there used to be.
I have it on PC, but it played better with a controller and there’s no controller-support on the PC version.

Thanks mate – I’ll see if I can find the PS3 demo :)
