GTA Online is receiving a few updates over the next while, and a certain glitch may point to North Yankton being a part of the multiplayer world eventually. North Yankton is an area in the single player of the game that is accessed twice, first at the beginning of the game then a mission when you’re playing as Michael.
Now CVG have discovered a way to access the area when you’re online but you have to follow a certain path to get there, and requires two people. First one person has to start a private online session while the other plays through the single player’s introductory level.
The single player mission must be played up until the car park shoot out where you then run to the left past a van. At this point the player who started an online game should send an invite which should be accepted.
Now you’re both online and need a helicopter to fly south east over the sea until you see some floating mountains. Fly past those mountains and you arrive in North Yankton which is completely open to explore, though obviously not much is going on since it shouldn’t be accessible.
Honestly how this glitch was even discovered is beyond me, considering it has such an obscure path.

I never get how anyone finds these glitches. Pure fluke? Hacking? Or actively trying?

How do they find things like that out??? Yeah, I think I may have seen a helicopter fly over my head towards some mountains yesterday whilst I was on Assassins Creed plundering ships. I think before flying over the sea they swapped the disc for a copy of Desert Strike to steal a helicopter.

Come to think of it, you would have thought if they went to all that hassle of the game joining helicopter stuff they would’ve had a bit of courtesy and put a jacket on their characters. They look like they may get a bit cold.
