More screens for the Thief reboot have emerged online showing a few different locations and some bits taken from the gameplay. It looks all quite depressing with the main colours consisting of varying shades of brown and grey, with a lot of rain. Dystopian societies, such as the one in Thief, are generally portrayed as such.
To be honest it doesn’t look like it would blow you away graphically, but the gameplay could still prove interesting. As a newcomer to the series I’d be interested to see how Thief plays when it releases.

The character models are pretty poor imo (look at the bad guys in the 3rd pic), however the lighting does look nice.
Hopefully though it will look a lot better on PC, Tomb Raider and Deus Ex both look great, so I’m hoping this will too. Still unsure on if I should pre-order on Steam or wait some reviews and then for it to go on sale.

What’s the general consensus on this game? Not played a thief game for years.
I’ve got this on preorder from Amazon but thinking I might cancel and wait for the reviews. Just not sure if its going to be any good – the stuff ive seen so far looked a bit ropey in parts.

I’ve waxed lyrical about Thief: Deadly Shadows before on TSA; it’s a genuinely amazing game and one of the best stealth games of all time (in my opinion). Beautiful art direction, intelligent and compelling use of the ‘hide or strike’ mechanic and an intriguing plot line.
If the next-gen iteration is anything like Deadly Shadows, then I’m sold on Day One. The only slight worry I have is that there’s been very little information about the reboot so far, especially given the fact that it’s out in a month’s time.
I’m still excited though…

I think it looks pretty cool! But with PS4 games at £50 a pop, I need more than just screenshots to commit to a purchase.

I think it looks lovely too. Not award winning but if the motion looks good (to characters, etc) then the believability of the environment will be very convincing. Also, I’m glad the palette choice is austere and semi-desaturated. It suits the world. God knows we don’t need it to look like it was designed by Nintendo. Time and a place for certain choices.

It does have a current/last-gen look to it but i’m hoping the gameplay and story will be engaging enough to make up for that. I haven’t played a Thief game before though so i’ll be looking for comparisons with Dishonored which i loved.

I already have this game reserved. I am confident that Thief will be great on the PS4. I will also be picking up Tomb Raider Definitive edition so I will be quite busy until Infamous: Second Sons and Watch Dog gets released.

Thief has never really been about blow away graphics – it’s all about the stealth, the timing and Garrett being involved in conspiracies much bigger than himself…. In fact that make me want to go and play Deadly Shadows right now…
