This is either the best or worst timing for this game to show up on WeView. On one hand, you’ll all be wanting to hear how the game is very soon as it’ll be available in tomorrow’s PlayStation Plus update but on the other, you might not have a chance to play it by Sunday and submit your slice of opinion.
Oh well, you all did the voting – it’s not my fault!
Metro: Last Light is a sequel to Metro 2033, which was apparently quite good. Metro: Last Light was apparently quite good too, although I never personally played it. While it didn’t quite seem to ramp up the spooky factor, it blended it with some excellent survival elements and a spot-on atmosphere.
Aran reviewed the game, scoring it 8/10, noting the bugs and lack of development in certain female characters as bad points:
Overall Metro: Last Light is a really good experience. There’s enough here for fans of action, stealth and survival to enjoy. Though the series seems to have moved on from being scary the majority of the time, it does this progression in a way that feels natural. Artyom is no longer the scared individual you saw in 2033, but instead a Ranger who tackles his mission, even though it can get tense. With a bit more work Last Light could have been close to a perfect game, but the few bugs it has do detract from the overall experience.
While he also enjoyed the stealth elements, he found executing the takedowns on guards could be a bit of an odd experience, and the AI didn’t really notice if you killed their mate just a few feet away.
It sounds good fun then, despite the issues, and I’ll definitely be checking it out on PS+ tomorrow, but before you go away and if you’re one of the people who’s already played the game, why don’t you leave us a little review?
Simply pop a comment below with your thoughts on the game, and if you get it in by Sunday evening, then you’ll have a chance of being included in the WeView Verdict article next week. Don’t let your comments drag on too long, but say as much as you like about the game.
When you’ve done that, add a Buy It, Bargain Bin It, Rent It or Avoid It rating on the end so we can get a better idea of everyones’ collective opinion.
