Bethesda have released an epic eight minute long cinematic video for The Elder Scrolls Online, dubbed The Arrival. While it doesn’t show off any gameplay, its movie-worthy visuals make it a very impressive feat. You can watch that below:
While an incredible trailer does not mean an incredible game, it really suggests the scale of the adventure, with characters teaming up to fight enemies and huge monsters alike. It almost made me forget about the hefty price of the game alongside the £8-per-month subscription.
And that price is only going to get bigger if you’re a fan of special collector’s editions, as Bethesda will be releasing an Imperial Edition of the game, which includes a huge collector’s box with steelbook packaging, a map of Tamriel, a guide, exclusive digital content including horses and mudcrab pets, as well as a statue of Molag Bol.

In the UK, the digital edition (which comes with more digital content, 30 days of game time, and 5 days early access) can be purchased from the Bethesda store for £69.99, but the physical edition can only be bought at GAME for £89.99.
What do you think? It’s certainly an epic trailer, but does the huge Imperial Edition get a thumbs up too?

If this goes free to play then I’ll be all over it

Wow, was that rendered with in-game assets or cgi? It’s becoming more difficult to tell the difference these days.
If it wasn’t for the online-only and subscription aspects i would be more excited about it, but damn it’s looking pretty epic.

I really wish this was going to be a single player game.

Aye, me too. The trailer was ace but I won’t be playing this unless it becomes free to play.

Also agreed. Thinking how much the trailer will rule over the actual gameplay is depressing

I am pumped for this! The trailer was an appetizer and I can’t wait to see gameplay as we get closer to the release date. I went to put my pre-order at Gamestop for the Imperial Edition but it isn’t in their system. However, it is online at Gamestop.com……strange. I don’t care about the subscription fee because it will be worth it!

I hope the subscription model fails just like Conan and lord of the rings online. Then I will get to play this lovely looking game
