We all love videogames for slightly different reasons. The things I look for are narrative development and art style. So that naturally means that I’m a sucker for the big coffee-table art books that many games are getting these days.
It’s not just about a big book of pictures, either, these books are usually packed with interesting little titbits of information about the games they cover and it’s often information you wouldn’t have spotted unless you were hoovering up every morsel of information spread around dozens of websites around the game’s release.
The man tasked with bringing the art of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow onto this glorious papery format is Martin Robinson, who just happens to be Features Editor at Eurogamer. It covers the first and second instalments in the Lords of Shadow series as well as the Mirror of Fate side story.
Hopefully we’ll be taking a look at the book itself at some point in the coming weeks (it’s due out on the 28th February for £29.99) but for now, we’ll make do with this handful of images from the book.
