New Pavilion Trailer Introduces The Concept Of The Fourth Person Puzzle Adventure

Visiontrick Media has lifted the lid on a Pavilion, a game they’re describing as a fourth person puzzle adventure for release on PS4 and Vita. The fourth person term essentially refers to a more godlike role where you have to influence the character through manipulating the environment around him. At no point is the player in direct control of the character, who only reacts to the events that play out around him.

Pavilion will not have any tutorials or explanations as it is designed instead for player’s to learn the controls through environmental cues, including sound and vision. The developers have decided to not really release much information about the overall gameplay or plot of Pavilion as they don’t want to give much away before people experience the game for the first time, a decision I can support.

Pavilion is scheduled for a spring 2014 release.

  1. The visuals look absolutely beautiful and the gameplay premise is oddly appealing. There was a windows game like this in the early 90s called Galapagos, I can barely remember it but I know it was a similar idea, time to waste my morning on google!

    • I used to love Galapagos. You controlled a little 4-legged spider AI thing called Mendal, but could only interact with the environment, and try and poke him into turning in the right direction. I think the idea was that he was an actual AI that learnt from the players actions and its consequences, but I’m not 100% on that.

  2. “Excuse me God, please open the door.”

Does actually look good but sounds like any number of whippersnappers these days!

  3. Sounds intriguing, i’ll check out the video when i get home.
