Watch Us Stream Titanfall On Xbox One

Titanfall is out at midnight in the UK, that’s means you should be playing the game in just over twelve hours from now if you’re going to a midnight launch, providing everything works smoothly.

But if you’re bored at lunchtime, why not watch us play the game instead? I mean, it requires minimal effort, and you can see what you’re getting into before you rush out and buy the game. Don’t worry though, it’s actually very good.

We’ll be playing through the first section of the campaign, so if you’re wanting to go in completely fresh then you probably won’t want to watch, but if you’re eager to see how the game blends story in with multiplayer gameplay, then look no further.

This should also act as a test of the Xbox One’s new Twitch streaming functionality. While we’ve been streaming on PS4 since launch, you can see just how well Microsoft have handled that side of things. I’ll let Peter take things from here…

If the embedded video above isn’t working on your device, then click through here and it should work on most modern things with a screen.

Update: The stream is over now, but you can watch a recording of the session below:

Or just click here to watch it directly on Twitch.

  1. Played the beta, really overhyped. This generations Haze..

    • Ha ha, every review I’ve seen says otherwise.

      • Microsofts money is a powerful tool. Can make a brand game seem amazing. ‘just phoning to discuss your titanfall review and be t years advertising budget”

You really don’t know how the game industry works….

      • Conspiracy theorist alert!

    • I’m looking forward to playing this generations Haze tommorow :D

  2. I’m not much of a fan of shooters, but it seems fun enough. Good for a weekend anyway.

I’m not buying it though. I play relatively few shooters, and spend far more time in the single player than I do online. It takes a special game for me to play it online for even a week, and I’ll rarely go online when I choose to revisit a game (I will certainly replay a game to see that moment from the story I loved though. Even better if I can skip straight to that level, Uncharted style).

Anyway, as you’ve probably guessed, a multiplayer only game isn’t for me I’m afraid, even one which blends story moments with it. If I leave a game and don’t come back to it for months, I don’t want to have to climb the veteran/newb mountain of multiplayer shooters again (especially when I’m bad at them). I might be interested in future games if there was a (good) story to play through offline on my own though.

It does look like it has some very fun mechanics, but games that are fun are a dime a dozen.

  3. Looks good. Very action packed.

  4. I really hope the 360 version is decent – I can’t justify getting an Xbox One to play one game, but if it’s a good experience on 360 I’ll definitely pick it up as it looks like great fun!

  5. Looks like an online shooter to me, people running around in circles shooting each other over and over again. Thankfully the reviews aren’t up to me though and it seems people are really enjoying the game which is all that matters.

So does the XB1 Twitch streaming roll out for all other XB1 games today too? I might see if i can watch any thru the PS4 browser later on.

    • Twitch has been up and running on xbone for quite a few days, its more like the Twitch site than the PS4 app with streams from PC Xbox and PS4,where as you can only view PS4 streams on the Playstation.

      • Ah right, i thought the twitch streaming was only activated today when Titanfall was released.
I watched the gaming baftas last night on Twitch.tv in the PS4 browser, should work the same for XB1, PC etc. Anyway i’ll check later when i get home.

      • Just to update on the above, it worked fine. Not as convenient as the console apps but i was able to watch several XB1 streams using the PS4 internet browser.

      • Ah nice one good to know it works haven’t really tried it.
