You Can Now Catch Pokémon With The New Google Maps Update

Google has released a new update for the mobile Maps app, and it allows you to try and become a Pokémon Master by exploring the the world to capture 150 of the creatures. It’s pretty fun and I’ve caught seven quite quickly, though now I have to roam further afield to find the rest. I am definitely going to try and catch them all, something I never managed to do when I used to play the original titles on the Gameboy.

There’s even an inbuilt Pokédex that gives you details about the Pokémon you’ve caught, and this is a brilliant move by Google and Nintendo. Of course this is likely part of Google’s April Fool’s move so don’t get too excited about the actual job role, but the game is fun. While this is a nice update for an existing update could it be a sign that Nintendo are now experimenting with mobile? Not full games but little apps and features such as the Pokémon hunt. Who knows, but in the mean time go and catch ’em all.

  4. Funny how I saw this just after watching the south park episode about chinpokomon
