New Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay Trailer Shows Combat & Locations

Bioware has just released a new trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition showing off both the gameplay, and the various locations you’ll venture through. A release date of October 7th has also been confirmed, as has the box art that will adorn the cases it comes in. The trailer looks fantastic and appears to capture the atmosphere that Origins worked so hard to build, and also appearing to do away with the recycled designs of Dragon Age II.

The combat looks a lot more real, and appears like it could be a lot better than both previous games in this series. The trailer also sets up the story nicely where the main character survives a blast that kills thousands around him. It’s revealed that this person is one of the only ones who can close the Breach, and stop the world from plunging into complete chaos as the demons and beasts run wild. Though there were only glimpses of the enemies and locations, they look very nice and very varied, and I can’t wait to see them properly.

The boxart just captures the essence of what BioWare seems to be going for with Dragon Age: Inquisition, and that is a tale worthy of the description of epic. It shows the lone Inquisitor facing the beasts of the breach, while in the background you can see ruins of a city.

Dragon Age: Inquisition  will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  1. So, they are actually bothering with Dragon Age 3 then. I am glad Mass effect is out of the way as that seemed to absorb all the goodness and hard work of Bioware when Dragon Age 2 was being developed.

Without a doubt this looks stunning, and I’m sure it’s make a nice addition to the next gen library.

  2. Lovely trailer and (now) genuinely interested in how this turns out. A great RPG is hard to beat.

  3. October is looking epic with this and Costume Quest. It’s nice to get a release date.

  4. Looks great. Need a good rpg to sink my grill into.
