Rockstar Games’ Online Multiplayer To Be Affected Due To GameSpy Shutdown

The GameSpy servers will be shutting down fully on May 31st with a lot of games hosted on the servers affected, including a number of Rockstar titles. This shutdown mainly affects the older library of games from the developer, while Grand Theft Auto V will remain unaffected. Some of the big changes include the removal of some Social Club support for games like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV, while online multiplayer for Midnight Club Los Angeles on PS3 is removed. All online multiplayer for Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition will also be shutdown.

Max Payne 3

  • Online multiplayer gameplay: Removed for the Mac version only

Red Dead Redemption / RDR Game of the Year Edition / RDR Undead Nightmare

  • Social Club website stat tracking and leaderboards: Removed
  • In-game Social Club services: Removed
  • In-game multiplayer leaderboards: Removed for PlayStation®3 version only

Grand Theft Auto IV / GTAIV Complete / GTA Episodes from Liberty City

  • Social Club website stat tracking and leaderboards: Removed
  • In-game multiplayer leaderboards: Removed for PlayStation®3 version only

Midnight Club Los Angeles / MCLA Complete Edition

  • Online multiplayer gameplay: Removed for the PlayStation®3 version only
  • All Social Club website features and account linking: Removed
  • In-game multiplayer leaderboards: Removed for PlayStation®3 version only
  • In-game Rate My Ride and Driving Test unlocks: Removed

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Nintendo DS and PlayStation®Portable Only)

  • Social Club website minigames and features: Removed
  • In-game Social Club content unlocks: Removed

Beaterator

  • All Social Club website features: Removed
  • In-game Track Upload/Download feature: Removed

Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition / MC3: Dub Edition Remix

  • Online multiplayer gameplay: Removed
  • In-game multiplayer leaderboards: Removed

So you can still go online with GTA V, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and Max Payne 3 (unless you own the Mac version), but leaderboards will not update. These changes will go into effect as soon as the GameSpy servers are switched off.
