Insomniac Releases An Overcharge Of Sunset Overdrive Information

A teaser site and a Twitter feed for Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive have gone live in the shape of a promotion for a drink called OverCharge Delirium XT, and these have revealed quite a lot of information about the world of Sunset City. The drink itself appears in the original reveal trailer when one of the characters uses it as a way to power up his weapon, so we can guess as to what function this will have in the game.  The Twitter feed goes by the name FizzleSays, with Fizzle being the brand mascot.

The company behind the drink is called Fizzco, a successful company that claims its other drink UNTZ is consumed 20 billion times daily. Fizzco has decided to host a launch party for the product in Sunset City where some major players of this place have been invited to attend. These include the Fizzco Executive Chet Fisher, Buck National who is a hunting show host, Wendy Tarth who is apparently the last living blacksmith, the mayor Arnold Renner, Troop Master Bryllcream appears to be a scout leader, and Red Caboose Reggie is a hobo who collects cans for money.

Some of the more interesting clues are hidden in the small print at the bottom of the screen, which seems highlight that the world is controlled by Fizzco. Some rules include that once the site is viewed then the viewer must tell two people about how great the new drink is or serve 17 years in prison. If anything bad is said or thought about Fizzco or the company’s products will also be met with time in prison. Fizzco also claims all ownership of everything on the page viewer’s computer effective immediately. It wouldn’t be that surprising to find out that the monsters in the trailer are something to do with Fizzco too.

  1. I don’t want sound like a fanboy but I lost respect & support for insomniac when they did exclusive for Xbox, multi plat understandable but exclusive though

    • Just out of curiosity, exclusive to Playstation was perfectly fine?

      • But that’s where they got big & who made them big, it’s like stabbing your fans in the back, Multi plat is understandable from business point of view & still developing for the ps
