It could be a 1080p re-release of Grand Theft Auto V, as the most obvious candidate, or something slightly more unexpected, like Bully 2 or a Red Dead Redemption sequel, but we only know one thing for certain, that Rockstar are bringing a game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One some time in the next 12 months.
Take-Two’s latest conference call to investors painted quite a rosy picture of the company’s financials, buoyed by the millions and millions and millions of sales of Grand Theft Auto V at the end of last year, but when looking to future developments and releases, they also revealed that Rockstar would be releasing a game in the company’s 2015 fiscal year.
What that game is, they didn’t say, but a GTA V port to PC and the latest console hardware has been rumoured and requested by fans since before the game was even released, although there’s no discounting that it could be another project which has been worked on quietly for the last few years. As CVG reported, CEO Srauss Zelnick anticipates that Rockstar will make up around 45% of the company’s revenue this year, but even that offers few clues as to what the upcoming game will be, just that they expect it to be another money printing bonanza.
So it’s a mystery for now, but there’s a decent chance that we’ll see some further news on this front at E3. It would be quite a coup for either Microsoft or Sony to be able to trot out a game announcement and content partnership with Rockstar during their press conference.

GTAV on PS4 would be awesome but I’m not sure it’s Rockstar’s style.

Pleas let it be a new IP or a decent sequel. I have had enough of HD remakes already, especially when a game is under a year old.

*Please

If it’s Red Dead then I may be joining the next gen sooner rather than later.
Really not bothered by GTAV again, its good enough on PS3

I wasn’t a big fan of the gameplay in Red Dead, but I was a sucker for the visuals. I’d probably buy it again for the PS4 just for that reason.
I think what ruined it for me was herding cattle & having to hunt something or other in a forest I got lost in (or something similar, my memories vague), as they seemed more of a boring chore I had to do rather than enjoying a section of a game. There were certain tasks which would bore me in real life, let alone a game.

They do that in all their sandbox games though. RDR had such a great environment to play in, all those random events that drew me off the track were excellent, and IMO they just make the game longer and provide better value.
The herding was alright, relevant to the story and segment at least

Not if any exclusivity deal that Sony held for that title still stands, though with the recent successes of the PS4 vs. the XBO, pushing to finish that game as an exclusive would certainly be more palatable to Take-Two and their investors.

If they do appear at e3 which rockstar have a tendency not to do, then they will probably be at microsoft’s keynote.

What?! A big, multistudio developer will release a game within a year? Oh my! ;-P
I imagine Red Dead Retribution (or something along those lines) is up next.
Wouldn’t mind an Episodes of Los Santos expansion thing for GTA V though.

Ooh yeah episodes for GTAV, with the option to buy it bundled with a next gen version of the game, that’d be ideal.

nobody thinking of Rockstar’s Table Tennis then?

Or Rockstar Tiddlywinks!

1080p on XBox One? I don’t think so! ;-)

Nor the PS4 if Watch Dogs is anything to go by. You can do it Rockstar, do the PS4 proud!

GTA V on PC, or a new Red Dead would be perfect!

I’d love it to be a new Red Dead game but I doubt it’ll be that.
