Assasin’s Creed Unity Will Have 4-Player Co-op

Assassins Creed Unity, due for release in 2014, will have 4 player co-operative multiplayer. A game trailer was shown at E3, depicting smooth multiplayer as four players fought through a crowd in Paris.

The visuals were stunning, with a smooth framerate despite the enormous amount of characters and action occurring on screen. The lighting, animations and draw-distance were all incredible, showing off the power of the Xbox One.

And, in the short clip shown, there were even a few amusing scraps of dialogue and NPC actions, such as a guard being distracted by a passing noble woman. Ubisoft have pulled out the big guns for this one.

  1. May I make a prediction ? This will be the biggest AC game yet. In terms of story and gameplay and historical characters involved.
We are talking about Ubisoft finally making a game on their home turf. France. They were waiting for this ever since they started AC series.

  2. Looked great! Just a shame they couldn’t have French accents for the characters. Spoilt it a lot.

  3. It looks like this will be the game that forces me to buy a new-gen console, it looks great!

  4. While these co-op videos all look well and good at E3, with carefully choreographed gameplay, the truth is that it will be a mess online. People will be forever running out into the open and charging head on. There will be no stealth, only chaotic frustration. It won’t be an Assassin’s Creed game.

Just like all the other AC multiplayers – the best way to “win” was to run around like an idiot, and I’m sure the online community will again adopt that attitude to this.

  5. Looks great but do agree with Jonny above, in that the coop will devolve into a clusterf*ck of people charging at targets and ruining the stealth aspect. Hopefully coop is not forced upon us players. Other than that it looks superb :)
