Nolan North Believes Uncharted 4 Is Last In The Series

The voice of Nathan Drake has spoke out following Uncharted 4’s in-game premiere at Sony’s E3 press conference. Nolan North has worked with Naughty Dog on the franchise since its inception, lending his voice to lead protagonist, Drake, and a slew of other popular gaming icons.

Speaking with IGN about Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, he said:

If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one – nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do, in which case I hope somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle because they’ve done it so well for so long – but yeah, it’s one of those things where you just have to cross that bridge when you get to it.

It’s bittersweet but at a certain point you want to go out on top.

Whether or not this really is the final game in the landmark series remains to be seen. Uncharted could very well extend beyond Nathan Drake’s saga, especially with other talented studios in the Sony stable.

Earlier this week, we discussed the possibilities in more depth.

  1. if the games continue to make a lot of money, they’ll continue making them.

  2. Yeah… OK… Remember when Rockstar said that GTA V wouldn’t come to next gen… Me too…

  3. I’ll be glad to see the end of it. You can have too much of a good thing you know! ;)
Although it might be interesting/worrying to see what another studio would do differently with the franchise … Uncharted : The Isometric Chronicles perhaps?….
