Epic Games Expand To The UK

Epic Games just announced that they’ll now have an official presence in the UK. The studio will be aptly called Epic Studios UK, and it’s being built around the already established Pitbull Studios.

Pitbull have contributed to the teams at Epic and People Can Fly for Gears of War: Judgement, and they also did some work on Silent Hill: Downpour. Most recently, Pitbull had been working specifically on the Unreal Engine, which is likely where Epic will put their expertise to use.

“Pitbull has been essential in helping us develop the best tools and technology for building the next generation of games,” Epic founder Tim Sweeney said. “They’ve been invested in UE4’s evolution since its early beginnings, and their dedication is unflinching.”

This expansion will see offices in Sunderland, Guildford, and Leamington Spa, and Epic currently have several positions available via their career page.

  1. Always nice to see new studios set up, instead of closing down.

  2. Glad to see the northeast getting some more jobs.
