Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Appears It Will Be A Solo Affair As No Multiplayer Allegedly Confirmed

Multiplayer has been present in the Assassin’s Creed games since Brotherhood, but it appears that both co-op and competitive  modes will not be making an appearance in the recently announced Rogue. This information comes via Game Informer where the magazine appears to confirm the lack of the mode, and since the news started spreading Ubisoft haven’t denied that you won’t be able to hunt other players.

It may be that Ubisoft hasn’t got the resources or time to work on multiplayer for both Rogue and Unity, so the company decided to focus on the latter instead. Rogue’s story focuses on the former Assassin Shay who turns against the order and joins the Templars, with his motivations being revealed over the course of the game. With the lack of multiplayer in Rogue allegedly confirmed will this put you off?

  1. Nope, that makes it more of a likely purchase for me than Unity!

Hate AC multiplayer. No AC has been as good as AC2 for me & that didn’t have it either. Coincidence?

    • Glad I’m not the only one, love the single player have done since AC1 but just can’t get on with the multiplayer.

  2. I’m actually looking forward to this more than AC Unity. Naval battles, more varied locations, ties to the previous AC games and now possibly no MP. Win. The plot sounds great too… Apparently you start the game as an assassin but you are betrayed and nearly killed by your own people. So you join the Templars and hunt down the assassins that sold you out. Sounds great.

  3. I’m much more likely to get this now. 100% focus on single player makes for a better story than if there were a tacked on multiplayer.

  4. No multiplayer is a definite plus for most games IMO.

  5. This does sound tempting even more now. Never played multiplayer in any of the AC games.
No doubt PS4 owners will get a HD maker over so I will wait till then.

  6. I’m +1 for all of the above

  7. Got both preordered, should be able to complete Unity before the 11th release date of Rogue.

Although I have noticed a small problem. We’ll now have 2 games which can be abbreviated as AC:R

    whatever will we do…
