The Tomorrow Children was one of the stranger and intriguing titles announced at Gamecom, mostly because there wasn’t much information on exactly what the game was about. Now though Gamespot has spoken to Q-Games who have revealed more details behind the mysterious title. The most basic information is that this game is set in the future where humanity is trying to rebuild, though the guidelines left results in a twisted Marxist society.
Players will be tasked with helping to build towns by mining for resources, and keeping out the things that could destroy it. This is done as a community, though you’ll only see other players as red silhouettes. On occassion monsters will attack and you’ll have to band together to take it down. Those won’t be the only threat a town may face, because if a player is deemed disruptive they can effectively be voted down and out. That player may then try and go to a different town where more havoc could be caused. On the flip side towns can build police stations to keep out these disruptive elements.
Town populations max out at 100 inhabitants, and you can choose to move should you have the right amount of rations save up. The Tomorrow Children does sound like my kind of game, and I’m look forward to seeing more

The reveal trailer showed a wonderful art stye and the game sounds quite interesting. There’s a fair whiff of tower defense from it but i’m interested in hearing more about the mining and ‘life-sim’ aspects.

Not my normal kind of game but the trailers got me interested. It’s looking quite good… & different.

Now this looks like a really interesting game. A great style about the graphic, love the themed music and I am really interested in the community style approach to play and progression. Sounds like similar mechanics to Minecraft with a collaborative approach layered on top.

Certainly sounds unique. But how about a Pixeljunk Monsters sequel? How about that, huh? Pretty please?
